60: IT’S TIME TO SOAR WITH HEIDI BEE



In today’s special edition, solo jam I am going to be reflecting on 2020 a bit and how we can be active participants in the life that we desire and provide direction for ourselves in the upcoming year.

We need to be willing to find the lessons in life and heal our relationship with uncertainty.

I also speak on building more trust, being more comfortable in the uncomfortable spaces of life and the simplicity of life and learning to look outside for our needs.

We need to be enjoying each moment a little bit more these days. Now, more than ever, right?

I’m sharing how our alone time gets to be amazing and at the same time giving us an allowance to really get to know ourselves. An opportunity for our wellbeing even.

Who are we going to be in 2021? Being the greatest version of ourselves?

We have to create our great, even while wondering what our purpose is?

SOAR invites in the dreaming and designing, the healing, health, and happiness, especially if we have lost touch with our body or being in 2020.

Today we’re talking all about being alone and aligned with my recurring guest, Kari Mischell.

Kari is an entrepreneur, motivational speaker, mother of four, food and body freedom coach and an emotional eating expert who has created a coaching program helping women reconnect back into their bodies to heal the root cause of why they diet or overeat.

Kari has completed the Mind/Body Wellness certification through Southwest Institute of Healing Arts and as well as the Food and Body Freedom coaching certification through Hungry for Happiness, a company that has revolutionized the diet industry.

She currently runs an online intimate 1:1 coaching program, group coaching programs and works as a Hungry for Happiness mentor for their coaching certification.

Kari’s passion and mission are to help women end their battle with food and heal their relationship with their bodies so that they can live a life full of peace, presence, and happiness!

Today Kari and I both share stories of how we have learned to become ok with being alone and what that process looked like for us, before during and after each occasion.

We also share the importance and long-term benefits being alone can have on us and for those around us.

Nothing is constant and or permanent and everything is always evolving so we should be the same which we get into on today’s episode.

57: GROWING WITH GRIEF WITH CRYSTAL SOTO



Crystal Soto is a Grief Coach. She helps women who have lost a loved one navigate their grief to come back home to themselves. Crystal lost her dad when I was 19 and her mom when she was 25.

Crystal lived in my grief for years and once she started doing the deep work to release the stuck emotions, she started seeing the shifts in herself. Now Crystal is on a mission to share that with other women.

Losing both parents was not an easy thing to go through for Crystal or anyone for that matter. There were lots of hard ache and grief. A sense of losing herself in many ways. As Crystal started doing the work and leaning into gratitude and shifting her perspective, she started healing and finding the joy in life again.

We only have one human experience we will remember living through and she had way too much life to live. Tune in today to hear how you can find happiness after losing someone.
Allow pain to be your teacher and how inviting in gratitude can change your life.

We also discuss some of the coping mechanisms we both leaned in to when we were going through our own griefs. Grief is not something you go through only from losing someone, which we dive into more today.

We both agreed when sharing our stores that it was exhausting when we were trying to pretend everything is ok. We both found our own ways to heal such as journaling, breathwork and coaching that has gotten us to where we are today.

Committing to yourself, crying through the growing process and learning how to navigate through life are just a few other topics discussed on today’s show, which we cannot wait for you to hear.

56: BREATHWORK FOR BREAKUPS WITH KARISHMA DONDE



Today I am chatting with my good friend and Breathwork Coach Karishma Donde.
Karishma started Breathwork Society to help people heal through the power of their own breath & other somatic healing practices.

Mental health awareness and access is at the core part of Karishma’s life mission. She believes that everyone has the right to know how to heal themselves through preventive care.

She recently quit her 9-5 job to become a full time Breathwork Coach. Being a first generation immigrant, she recognized that there were cultural constructs that were holding her back from living out her wildest dreams an now helps others to live their own empowered lives by breaking free of their own cultural standards, people pleasing, perfectionism, and high-performing anxiety through breathwork.

Natural medicine and Ayurveda were a part of her cultural upbringing and she loved it so much that she would unofficially give her friends and other family members advice on living a healthier (antibiotics/prescription free life). This lifestyle and off-the-books mentoring taught her how to lead with her intuition and create individualized healing plans for her clients.

One of her life goals is to get more diversity into the mental health space.

Why having a true connection with ourselves is so important, and how the power of breath can be so healing.

54: NO PAIN, NO GAIN WITH MEGAN WALKER

Today Megan shares her journey of why she always obsessed over what her body looked like, how much she weighed, what she ate, counting calories all day, every day. Megan used to restrict all week, then would binge on Sunday’s like a man woman. She then turned to alcohol and Adderall for comfort and fake confidence.

Megan shares with us why pain equals a catalyst for change. What the scale says has nothing to do with your worth. Throw it out! Life gets to be easy. Breath and Surrender equals our biggest allies. Everything is happening for us.

We also chat about why being alone is so important and how it gives us our allowness. We have so many of these little micro moments sprinkled throughout the show so let us know which one was your favorite.

Today I am talking with Dr. Shawn Horn who is a licensed psychologist, author, and inspirational speaker.

In addition to her private practice in Spokane WA, she serves as faculty at the University of Washington’s Medical School (Spokane’s Psychiatric Residency Program), provides clinical supervision and mentoring to medical providers.

Dr. Horn is also a Columnist for TOI magazine, hosts Inspired Living Podcast, is a media consultant, founder of Instagram’s The Psychology Directory, host of YouTube’s Digital Practice and author of Shame-Buster!

With over 27 years’ experience in the mental health field she is now bringing the wisdom of the therapy room to larger audiences.
